Do you know your OM1 from your OM5?

Fluke Networks have put together this handy reference poster.

The international standard ISO/IEC 11801-1 (and ANSI/TIA-568.3-D) includes the nomenclature for fibre. Multimode fibre is prefixed with “OM” and the singlemode mode “OS”. Each “OM” has a Minimum Modal Bandwidth (MBW) requirement. Fluke have listed out these minimum modal bandwidth requirements, distance and loss limits for OM1 through OM5, plus test set-ups.
