Plixer One is a dedicated solution for analysing all types of Flow traffic from your network across your hybrid infrastructure and providing you with comprehensive visibility, including highlighting security issues.

Scrutinizer has been a trusted name in network monitoring and traffic analysis for years. But as networks have become more complex, organisations require more. Therefore Scrutinizer has been re-engineered to become Plixer One. With more scalability, more analytics, more insight and more integrations.

How is the data collected?

In modern networks, more and more devices are producing flow outputs which contain useful information about what traffic they are seeing and how its being handled. That’s data from your network components, such as routers, switches, firewalls & load balancers.

Typically people talk in terms of NetFlow (Cisco term), but there are many different types depending on your hardware. Plixer accepts traffic from multiple sources such as NetFlow, S Flow, J Flow, IPFIX, plus SNMP & log data.

What information can the data provide?

Whatever the flow output, Plixer One collects it all and processes the data.

This real-time monitoring can show you how busy your network is and traffic patterns that are out of the ordinary. Across on-premise, hybrid cloud, and SD-WAN environments. Here’s a few examples:

• Identify who & what is using up all the bandwidth.
• And if users are accessing data they shouldn’t or their behaviour is unusual.
• Monitor the performance of applications.
• Track communication between on-premise, SaaS and Cloud networks.
• Detect over-loaded devices and potential security threats.
• Capacity planning – analyse trends to enable sizing, get visibility of under-utilized links, plus those which support the most traffic that may need policy control.

There’s also a built in replicator, so the data collected can be distributed to other tools, such as your SIEM, SOAR, ITSM etc.
