10Gig Network Tester, with WiFi too!
EtherScope nXG is the latest product release from the team that were originally part of Fluke Networks, then Netscout and now operate as a new company branded NetAlly.
Designed to help network engineers verify, discover and troubleshoot both wired and wireless networks up to 10G, the product supports NBASE-T, 10G and Wi-Fi 6/6E (802.11ax). Plus, new features for troubleshooting wireless include WiFi survey and performance tests!
For the very first time, data gathered from the wired and wireless networks is displayed simultaneously, allowing you to see the full picture irrelevant of how the user connects!
And like the LinkRunner G2, the EtherScope nXG is based on an Android platform, combining the advantages of a powerful network tester with the convenience of a smart device interface and third party Apps.
AutoTest profiles simplify verification of network health, configuration and services. Whilst in the background the discovery and advanced feature set enable assessment and documentation of complex network deployments with multiple VLANs and Wi-Fi SSIDs.
For those looking to perform a wireless survey, the new AirMapper Survey feature was added in April 2020. Just upload your floor plans and click on the screen as you walk to capture WiFi measurements. Then simply upload the results to your Link-Live.com account to create coloured signal strength heat maps & filter on the data.
OneTouch or OptiView users will recognise valuable network tests such as path analysis, 10G link performance, iPerf test, 24-hour back-in-time traffic analysis, cable test and packet capture. The auto upload to Link-Live (the free online cloud portal) provides shared access to collate results from multiple testers, for remote analysis of the data, documentation and reporting.
Nov 2020 – Link-Live.com has been updated to include the ability to automatically draw Topology Maps – for both wired and wireless – based on the information gathered by the EtherScope’s network discovery engine. You can even export your map to Microsoft Visio!
Jan 2021 – NetAlly release EtherScope® nXG v1.4 & Link-Live™ v5.9 as part of their AirMapper Site Survey Ecosystem – which includes the ability to Manage Floor Plans across all devices and perform Active Surveys. Read the full update here.
Apr 2021 – NetAlly launch LANBERT Media Qualification App – which generates and measures the transmission of line rate Ethernet frames over your network cabling infrastructure, qualifying its ability to support 1G/10G fibre & 100M/1G/2.5G/5G/10G copper links.
May 2021 – NetAlly launch v1.5 which enables Bluetooth wireless site surveys using AirMapper!
Nov 2021 – NetAlly launch InSites for AirMapper with applies pass/fail criteria to your results, providing you with a quick and simplified summary of how good your wireless coverage is!
Jun 2022 – NetAlly launch the WiFi 6/6E version of EtherScope (EXG-300) – providing you with full connectivity for Wi-Fi 6/6E across all three bands (2.4, 5 & 6GHz)! And at the same time launched their brand new NXT-1000 Spectrum Adapter.
When purchasing the EtherScope nXG, you can choose either the standard unit or the KIT. The additional accessories in the KIT are: a holster, SFP+MR-10G1310, an iPerf Test Accessory, WireView wire mappers #2-#6, External Directional Antenna, the NXT-1000 Spectrum analysis adapter and a slightly larger softcase (see photos).
Please note that when you buy an EtherScope 300 model, your first year of AllyCare Support is included. Should you wish to purchase additional years, please let us know.
We also offer training on the EtherScope, to ensure everyone gets the most out of it.
Please Note: If you’re considering EtherScope, but would benefit from additional security features, then we suggest you also take a look at CyberScope (which is a Controlled Edition of EtherScope with integrated Nmap functionality). A comparison datasheet is available below for your reference.

Stress critical network links, such as switch ports to servers/storage/Wi-Fi access points, uplinks or WAN links, with up to four simultaneous data streams at up to 10G line-rate (requires suitable reflector device). Or use iPerf v3 network test algorithm to test against the NetAlly Test Accessory.
Audit and document
Auto discovers the network immediately upon power-up, providing quick security and health audits of network devices across multiple VLANs and all Wi-Fi channels. Devices are classified and correlated to provide complete visibility of their name, network addresses, VLAN, SSID, device type, and where available, traffic statistics. Upload data to Link-Live.com for storage or converted to CSV/PDF files as documentation. Discovery results from the wired and Wi-Fi networks are correlated to show the name and IP address of Wi-Fi devices connected to the network. NEW in Nov 2020 - Link-Live.com can automatically draw Topology Maps from the discovery data, which can be exported to Microsoft Visio! NEW in Jun 2021 - Discovery Difference analysis, use Link-Live to compare two network discovery snapshots; any new or missing devices are automatically highlighted so you can review the changes.
Out-of-the-box AutoTest profiles for pass/fail of network configurations and services. Multiple profiles can be created for complex networks with multiple VLANs supported per switch port, and Wi-Fi networks with multiple SSIDs each with its own set of IP targets.
Shows the switch/router path connecting the EtherScope nXG to an IP device on across wired and Wi-Fi networks, or beyond, for example to a cloud location or data centre across the Internet. Including analysis of devices along the path: view configuration, interface traffic statistics, launch Telnet or browser, conduct port scan, ping and more.
From both the Wi-Fi and Ethernet test interfaces. Capture up to 10G line-rate to create a PCAP file of up to 1Gigabyte. Packet slicing and filtering are supported. PAP files can be uploaded to the Link-Live Cloud Service for easy sharing.
24-Hour Monitoring for Intermittent Issues – Periodic AutoTest
In this mode, AutoTest runs at specified intervals (from 1 minute to 24 hours) and sends the results to Link-Live to view the results over time - this is an effective way to “monitor” aspects of your network for an extended period, or to help diagnose intermittent issues without having to manually execute multiple tests.
