Analyse

Analyse – Troubleshooting Network Issues

The key to analysing network problems is speed and detail. These tools do not store data in time (these are covered in the Manage and Trend sections ) and are typically aimed at the engineering level in the organisation.

These are defined by the areas in which they work:-

Cable testers – The Fluke Networks DTX and OptiFiber ranges are aimed at certifying cable installs and supporting large amounts of cabling.

Handheld testers – the Fluke Linkrunner, Nettool and EtherScope tools are aimed at LAN support engineers looking to test physical ports, there configurations and the set up of Layer 3 networks.

The Fluke Networks OptiView is aimed at the more advanced engineer who needs more detail, looks at performance issues and has to support multiple networks from one place.

The Observer Range of products is aimed at the engineer that wants the detail of full packet analysis, to be able to reconstruct what has happened and needs details on performance issues. With the addition of hardware probes this technology can enable you to reconstruct issues that have already happened and analysis them before they reoccur.
